Pleasant, But Not Magical – Is This Sign Of Things To Come For Jaanu? The first single from Jaanu, a remake of classic Tamil film 96 is out. The technical crew for the movie is the same, which led to many thinking if the same songs from the original will be used. However, Jaanu has opened for fresh tunes.

Govind Vasantha, the music director of the original, has come out with a soothing and melancholic melody for Jaanu. It is pleasing on ears and a pleasure to hear. An old-world feeling in created with a dash of Maestro Ilaiyaraja touch. It will grow on multiple listens, no doubt.

But, all said and done, the magical feeling is missing. The music in the original created that feel and was instantly and insanely catchy at the same time. With ‘Pranam’ that is not the case, at least on initial hearings.

One can’t help but feel if this is a sign of things to come? Recreating and matching an original with classic tag is a near-impossible feat. Yes, the director (C Prem Kumar) is the same, but there will be change with the different cast involved. The teaser already points in that direction, too.

Jaanu stars Sharwanand and Samantha in the lead. C Prem Kumar directs the movie. Dil Raju is producing the heartfelt love drama, which releases worldwide on February 7th, 2020.
