Theatres Covid-19There is utter chaos in the Telugu film industry as the daily cases in India have almost touched One Lakh. Even though the cases in both the Telugu States are not alarming, they are gradually increasing indicating that the worse is coming.

There are rumors that the Government is going to shut the theaters sooner or later and this has become a cause of worry for the industry which has just recovered and is looking at the summer season for complete normalcy.

The industry is praying that there should not be a complete shutdown of theaters to save the Cinema. If the Government allows 50% occupancy, all the biggest lined up summer will get postpone and make way for small films. The small films will also take a risk given that there are indications that audience are scared to come to theaters even if they are open.

Anything other than 100% occupancy will not augur well for the biggies but then, many of the film are already delayed and the big question is how long they will have to do that from here. The OTT platforms which could not lay hands on the Biggies in the first wave will be back with renewed vigor this time.

This is not just about the biggies. The film workers, daily wagers, junior artists, and those in the media who are most vulnerable are literally shaking remembering the last year.
