Teaser Talk: A Promising Anthology On The Horizon

Pitta Kathalu - Netflix

So, here it is, the long in the gestation period anthology series from Netflix is finally coming to the platform. It is named Pitta Kathalu in Telugu and is a Netflix Original series.

When the project was announced, the buzz was that it is a remake of popular Hindi anthology series, Lust Stories. The setting and casting do remind us of the Hindi original, but somewhere it all doesn’t look the same. Pitta Kathalu is about women breaking the patriarchal mindset. Maybe it is very short teaser effect.

The casting comprising of names like Shruti Haasan, Amala Paul, Eesha Rebba and Manchu Lakshmi look fabulous. What’s even more promising is the directors handling them, Tharun Bhascker, Sankalp Reddy, Nag Ashwin and Nandini Reddy. They are all promising young talents with a unique vision. We have to see what they have in store.

Netflix has been making inroads into the Southern film industry, quietly and silently. Pitta Kathalu is the first original presentation by them in Telugu.

Check out the teaser below. Pitta Kathalu will stream on Netflix site from February 19th. Let’s wait for an official trailer or announcement to confirm whether Pitta Kathalu is indeed a remake of Lust Stories or not. RSVP Movies and Flying Unicorn Entertainment jointly produce the movie.
