Tollywood Piracy Industry, Tollywood Piracy Market, Telugu Piracy Industry, Telugu Piracy Market, Kollywood Piracy Industry, Kollywood Piracy Market, Tamil Piracy Industry MarketPiracy, whether in the form of pirated DVDs and CDs or in the form of online links is killing the revenue of films big time. While Tollywood is a bit blessed because of the stringent measures taken up lately, Kollywood is reeling under piracy mafia.

Tollywood took up some aggressive measures like arresting techies who had taken up online piracy for fun and for some petty amount, sending a strong message to those who want to get into this illegal business. But in Kollywood, arresting a few individuals isn’t going to help as the illegal business is deep rooted.

Reports say that one of Kollywood mafia kingpin who was arrested for making copies of DVDs and CDs within hours of a film”s release, got bail and is continuing the same, this time shifting his base to the outskirts of Bengaluru and printing pirated copies again. The pirated DVDs come with lower price tags but give the quality of the original. Pirated DVD manufacturing costs Rs 4 to Rs 5 but they end up making more than Rs 100.

Going by the bad example set by Kollywood piracy mafia, it’s the need of the hour that Tollywood has to continue the strict measures by keeping vigil on those who try to release pirated copies of films. For Kollywood, a few arrests and destroying pirated copies isn’t going to work. Stringent laws and a well developed technically sound system has to come into force to help curb piracy.

Kollywood piracy mafia seems to be working with a definitive system and the kingpin has a well set distribution system which allows them to seep through the gaps in our legal system. Closing those gaps by addressing the lapses is going to work. A few raids and a few arrests aren’t going to provide solution for such a grave menace.
