Abdul Kalam died_newsFormer President of India, APJ Abdul Kalam passed away a short while ago in Shillong. Kalam was at IIM – Shillong for a guest lecture and he collapsed while addressing the congregation. It is said that the 84 year old suffered a severe heart attack.

Kalam was a scientist. He served at DRDO and ISRO for about four decades. He was known as the Missile Man of India for his development of ballistic missile and launch vehicle technology. He also played a crucial role in India’s nuclear test at Pokhran in 1998.

Kalam was elected as the President of India in 2002. He was one of the most lovable Presidents of the country and known as People’s President. Kalam also received India’s highest civilian award, Bharat Ratna. Kalam is an unmarried man.
