Two Tamil films with reputed artists and technicians literally tasted dust because of the content and the execution of the story plot. These two movies aka Jyothika’s Ponmagal Vandhal’ and Keerthy Suresh’s ‘Penguin’ opened to mixed reviews on all platforms.
There is a talk that they would have bitten dust if they were to go for a theatrical release. ‘Penguin’ that started streaming from last night opened to mixed reviews and negative talk spreading on social media.
However, it was very wise on the part of the makers of the movies to opt for an OTT release as they would have washed away if they went for theatrical releases. Especially, ‘Penguin’. Both films came with huge hype, but everything just vanished once people started streaming. The word is out on ‘Penguin’, now.
We we take the last night release, Keerthy Suresh’s slim avatar also added to the disappointment as her charm seemed to be lost due to excessive weight loss. So, OTT route bombed for these two films and let’s wait and see what is in store for other films.
