Pelli Choopulu was a sleeper hit. The film was remade in Tamil titled Oh Manapenne. Directed by debutant Kaarthikk Sundar, it was rumoured that the film will be heading for a direct-to-OTT release.
And proving the rumour to be true, Oh Manapenne is all set for digital streaming on Hotstar. Despite theaters having resumed in Tamil Nadu, the makers went for the digital streaming option.
Buzz is that the team was given a good offer by the OTT platform and the team thought it to be a good deal, following which they decided to skip a theatrical release. The team has unveiled the poster about arriving on Hotstar, however, they are yet to confirm the release date.
Starring Harish Kalyan and Priya Bhavani Shankar, the music is given by Vishal Chandrasekar, while Krishnan Vasant is the DOP. It is speculated that Oh Manapenne could be premiered during Dasara festive weekend.
