The final theatrical trailer of Superstar Rajinikanth’s Peddhanna is out. It is an out and out mass entertainer set in a village following all the routine troupes.
The teaser showed us a glimpse of what is in store with Peddhanna, aka Annaatthe. It is a mass entertainer with family elements in a rural backdrop. However, it didn’t show the key characters and the overall tone. We get clarity on those elements in the final full-blown trailer.
The first thing that comes to our mind before anything is the director Siva’s previous works. It is all typical Siva from the first frame to the different characters and the mass elevation bits. It also, therefore, gives a routine feel throughout. We have seen it all before.
But, Superstar Rajinikanth is the vital difference here. Along with him, the exciting casting is the difference between Peddhanna and other works of Siva in the past. Keerthi Suresh as sister offers a fresh look and feel to the movie. The rest of the cast, with Nayanthara, Meena and Kushboo, also add to the family appeal.
Despite the routine criticism, if Peddhanna manages to be anywhere as entertaining and heroism filled as previous attempts of Siva, it could work big time at the box office. More than Telugu, it would hold true for the Tamil version, Annaatthe. They have been deprived of a proper mass entertainer for a long time.
