Pawan Kalyan and actress Nithya Menen won the Hyderabad Times Film Awards 2012 in the category of best male and female actors in an online poll conducted by Times Of India. Not only that, last year Nitya had won the Promising Newcomer award. With all these approbations, the actress is certainly living up to the tag of being “the next Soundarya”. But when asked about that, Nithya replied that even though it is flattering to be called as such, she is not really looking to be the next Soundarya. She just wants to keep entertaining the audience and that as an actor, she believes that there is no greater award for her than the love of her viewers.
As for whether acting and emoting gets better with age, it is Nithya’s belief that there is no middle ground in acting. Either one can act or one can’t but she doesn’t think that people can get better as an actor. Below is the list of major categories and their winners.
