Pawan Kalyan Forced The Director And It BackfiredGudumba Shankar upon its title announcement left Pawan fans in hysteria. Not only fans but it piqued interest among masses too with its catchy title assuming that they would get to see Pawan in a mass avatar but it did not live up to the expectations back then. Now, filmmaker Veera Shankar has recounted his experience of working on Gudumba Shankar with Pawan.

He said that while filming went smoothly, it was in climax that they had encountered a slight issue. The film climax was meant to have a high-octane action episode and he prepared everything for it. However, Pawan Kalyan didn’t want to go for a ‘forceful action’.

Pawan said that from his previous films he has changed the trend in his films where he is choosing to go organic. Pawan asked me to shoot the sequence naturally, and if I am not satisfied then he gave me the option to reshoot in the manner which I want,” said the filmmaker.

“Upon editing, a third person saw the footage which said that it appeared natural as wanted, and the same was put up in the film. But upon release, we learnt that fans didn’t like the climax. But the family audience became the saving grace for the film. Had the climax been the same as what I wanted, it would have done a phenomenal business,” adds the filmmaker.

The filmmaker continues to say that despite forceful change of climax by Pawan, the two have cordial relation even now, adding if the right script comes in they would collaborate.
