Intelligent director Trivikram is one amongst the most favored director in the US market and if a hero like Pawan Kalyan combines with Trivikram, there would be no boundaries to the hype that would be generated on the movie. ‘Agnyathavaasi‘ is presently witnessing that kind of true hype.
Pawan-Trivikram combo had set the box-office on fire a few years ago when ‘Atharintiki Daredi’ collected $1.8 million. Now, the US rights of “‘Agnyathavaasi’ are sold out for $2 Million and the theaters list released so far has two popular theatre chains Cinemark and AMC and number of theatres exceeding the number of theatres of ‘Baahubali 2’.
Hence, the trade is expecting huge non-Baahubali numbers from ‘Agnyathavaasi’. Can you guess that the break-even number for Pawan-Trivikram movie is $3.5 Million which is much bigger than the biggest ever grosser in the US, ‘Srimanthudu’ ($2.8 Million)? True. With the rights sold out for $2 Million and other expenses including theater rentals, only above $3.5 Million will reap profits for the US buyers.
Though the number seems very huge at its face value, the huge release in record number of theatres for premiers and regular shows and of course the release falls on a Tuesday which will have attractive offers like buy one and get one will give a big opportunity for the movie to mint money. So the $3.5 million break-even figure may not be an impossible feat if the talk is really good. Of course, conditions apply.
