Pawan Kalyan: 27 Films - 14 RemakesPawan Kalyan had always been more inclined towards remakes. In fact, 14 of the 27 films that he has acted in till now have been remakes.

Pawan first made his debut with Akkada Ammayi Ikkada Abbayi which is a remake of a Hindi film Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak. His subsequent films Gokulamlo Seetha and Suswagatham were also remakes.

So are Thammudu, Khushi, Annavaram, Teenmaar, Gabbar Singh, Katamarayudu, Gopala Gopala, Agnyathavaasi, VakeelSaab, and as well as his latest outing Bheemla Nayak.

As for Khushi, the story was initially narrated to Pawan Kalyan and he did not take the project onto the floors immediately. In the meanwhile, Tamil hero, Vijay picked the subject and made it in Tamil. Shortly after, Khushi materialized. So, it is technically a remake.

Pawan made cameo appearances in Shankar Dada MBBS and its sequel – Zindabad and coincidentally, even these films were remakes.

The last time Pawan Kalyan scored a hit with an original film is Attarintiki Daaredi which released back in 2013.

That said, Pawan Kalyan always had his trademark mannerisms and acting style. His styling and screen presence struck a chord with the young section of the audience during the time of Khushi, Thammudu, Badri’s release, making him an enigmatic superstar.

Cut to now, Pawan Kalyan is lining a couple more remakes – Vinodhaya Sitham and Theri. His remake-heavy lineup is not sitting well with his fans, but that is how it is.
