In a quite unfortunate circumstance, the authorities in Pakistani have put a stop to the issuing of No Objection Certificates for the screening of Indian films. In this regard, The Federal Information and Broadcasting Ministry of Pakistan have told the exhibitors and distributors of Indian films that it currently in the process of making new laws and regulations. Owing to this, the No Objection Certificates cannot be issued until the new laws are accepted by the Federal Cabinet. This has been going on for the last month and is putting quite a strain on the distributors and exhibitors of Indian films.

One such distributor and exhibitor, Nawab Siddiqui, who is also the owner of Atrium Cineplex in Karachi, stated that the entire procedure has just been stopped and as such they were unable to get NOCs for highly awaited new films like Gunday and Hasee Toh Phasee as a result they were in huge losses.
