Director Gunasekhar is coming up with yet another period drama from our mythology and it’s titled ‘Shakuntalam‘ that tells a love story between the pic characters Dushyanth and Shakuntala. This epic story was immortalised by Mahakavi Kalidasu.
But, there are things to consider when it comes to a project like this. The director is out of focus now and he struggled a lot for his previous period drama ‘Rudramadevi‘. Back then, Allu Arjun came as his saviour and bailed out the movie.
Allu Arjun played the popular Gona Ganna Reddy’s role in ‘Rudramadevi’ and that helped the movie pick up the publicity and take it to the audiences. Once again, Gunasekhar needs a face like Allu Arjun to be his saviour for ‘Shakuntala’ even, Otherwise, creating buzz for that mythological project would be a herculean task.
Nevertheless, that seems to be highly impractical as of now as everyone is busy with their respective projects after the gap that came due to the pandemic. A big star coming to the rescue of Gunasekhar might not be possible. But, let’s wait and see.
