OTT Watch: Coming Of Age Film With a Solid LeadWhen it comes to making path-breaking films in India, it is undoubtedly Hindi cinema that has gone ahead and made some bold films. With each passing year, Hindi films touch upon subjects that are delicate and not spoken much openly.

It is not exaggerating to say that Ayushman Khurrana is the torchbearer to daringly do such bold films in this present generation. It started with Vicky Donor where he played a sperm donor and now with his latest release, Chandigarh Kare Aashique, he has attempted one more very bold film.

Chandigarh Kare Aashique is now streaming on Netflix and is about a bodybuilder and gym owner who falls in love with a girl who turns out to be a trans woman. Vaani Kapoor plays the transwoman and she performs well in her delicate role.

The plot is fresh and Ayusman looks fit and handsome. Even though there is nothing extraordinary from the lead pair, director Abhishek Kapoor’s decent narration makes all the difference.

Box office wise too, the film made good money and the makers ended in good profits. The film has a healthy tone and the sensitive subject is brought out in a fun way without hurting the feelings of anyone. The solution to the problem shown also looks logical.

Also, the manner in which the film is ended also gives an open solution for transwomen for being accepted in society and find partners who encourage them. The film has received a lot of critical acclaim, and is a good OTT watch to engage in this weekend.
