The Indian OTT space has been running dry with no too many Indian titles able to fully impress the OTT crowd. But the Hindi OTT space appears to have finally broken the deadlock and rolled out a good product.
The discussion now is about Farzi, a crime drama featuring Shahid Kapoor, Vijay Sethupathi, and Raashi Khanna in the lead roles.
Farzi is set in the backdrop of the widespread menace of counterfeit currency in India. Sunny (Shahid Kapoor) is a gifted though struggling sketch artist. He and his BFF Firoz (Bhuvan Arora) use his artistry to design and publish fake currency that looks and feels as good as the original, the plot reads.
The series is directed by Raj and DK, the men behind The Family Man, so the anticipation was naturally high on the same. And the two happening filmmakers have indeed delivered with Farzi now.
Farzi is billed to be a sharply written and witty crime drama with fine performances from the lead cast. The subtle yet striking humour is a trademark of Raj & DK, and they’ve delivered on full count on this front. It is understood that the series can make for a decent-to-good watch this weekend.
