OTT Platforms Misguiding Telugu Producers?

OTT Platforms like Amazon Prime Video and Netflix have erased the boundaries of Cinema. They bring films of different languages to your smartphone and allows you to choose at your leisure. They also help filmmakers to stay in touch with good films of other languages.

But then, that accessibility probably is backfiring on Telugu Producers. They have got themselves in a mode that they hear about the success of a film, watch in OTT, and purchase the remake rights. The Problem is that may such films do not fit into our nativity. The digital watch also misguides the audience since it is a different experience altogether in a theater.

Many films work in digital but not in theaters. So going by their digital instinct, they purchase rights, make films, and burn their hands. Currently, one film which is ready for release and one film which is in the planning stage may suffer the same problem.

The makers may have got carried by their success in other languages and are bringing them to Telugu. There is a high probability that these films may backfire. Probably, it is better for our filmmakers not to take decisions with Digital Watching
