Oscars-RRRFunding an Oscar campaign is not a cheap affair. It can cost millions of dollars for the makers of potential Oscar films to run a good campaign to prepare the ground for their films to actually have a shot at the prestigious Award.

So, if Rajamouli and team RRR is to actually run an Oscar campaign, they will have to shell out big bucks. To put that into perspective, the budget to fund an Oscar campaign is bigger than the production costs of most Telugu films.

Earlier, it was reported that the makers of Parasite, the winner of the Best Picture Award for the year 2020 had spent around $5 million on the Oscar campaign. This roughly converts to Rs 40 crores.

If RRR is now to commission an Oscar campaign, the makers will have to allocate a sizeable budget. The end result is that RRR will go places that no other Indian film ever could and it would be a historic feat for Indian cinema, and particularly so for Telugu cinema.

RRR is already a raging hit in the west and several white folks are already manifesting Oscars for the Rajamouli directorial. The film drove the western folk wild and its reach is superior to any Indian film till date.

The question now is will Rajamouli and co actually be spending millions of dollars to run an Oscar campaign. If yes, then we are in for an exciting ride over the next 6 months or so until Oscars are held.
