Winning an Oscar isn’t testimony of a person’s intellect and here is one such instance that clearly instates the same.
Resul Pookutty, an Oscar winning sound designer(Slumdog Millionaire) from India is crying foul on RRR. When a westerner commented about RRR, Resul tweeted “Gay love story” as he intended to belittle the Rajamouli directorial.
Well, RRR is getting global acclaim on an unprecedented level. Thousands of westerners are in awe of the film. The film is making a whole lot of noise on Netflix. In fact, it even re-released in select locations in the USA just a couple of months post its worldwide release, such is the hype on the film.
Now, it isn’t right for an Oscar winner like Resul, who is also working on Telugu films (Sound designer for Pushpa) to cry foul on RRR.
“Being an Oscar winner, Resul wasn’t even in consideration for RRR. This might have agitated him. Hence the cheap comment” netizens rely to Resul.
It needs to be noted that Rajamouli prefers working with the same core team for all his films. If Resul really is agitated by the fact that he wasn’t approached for RRR, then it is evident that he has a childish mentality.
