The Telugu OTT space has been running dry for the past few days as there are’t too many new and exciting outings. This weekend is not going to be any different either as there is only one new mainstream Telugu OTT release lined up.
Anand Deverakonda’s Highway is the only mainstream Telugu title releasing this weekend. The film will premiere on Aha Video on the 19th of this month.
Highway has Anand Deverakonda in the lead role and it is directed by KV Guhan of Kalyan Ram’s 118 fame. This is an Aha original. The trailer looked fairly compelling and by the looks of it, the film is based on a serial killer. It could cater to a section of the Telugu audience if the content is right.
Then there is Yaanai, a Tamil film featuring Vijay Antony. It will also arrive on OTT tomorrow. It will stream on ZEE5. But this film is a routine actioner directed by Hari so there isn’t too much promise here.
So, Highway will have to carry all the baggage this week as it is the only Telugu release this weekend.
