The much awaited Shankar’s next ‘Ai (Manoharudu in Telugu)’ starring Vikram is once again postponed. The film which was earlier planned for June release is now postponed to a further date. The movie unit says the delay in the movie’s back ground score is the reason for the postponement. They say AR Rehman had shot some more time to get the rerecording perfect and Shankar known as a hard task master is more than happy to give him the time.
However, sources in Kollywood say it is not the right season. They say the postponement of Rajinikanth’s Kochadaiyaan and Kamal Hassan’s Vishwaroopam 2 is the reason for the delay. Kochadaiyaan is releasing on May 23 and Vishwaroopam 2 is likely to hit the theatres in July or August. As both movies command huge market, including overseas, Shankar does not want Ai’s performance to be affected. It is said that he is waiting for the two movies to complete their run before releasing his film.
