Bad luck seem to be following Kamal Hassan every where these days. He had acted, directed and produced Viswaroopam with a whopping budget of 150C but the movie failed to rake in good response from the audience. It was Kamal’s simultaneous DTH release decision that hogged the lime light and brought some much needed publicity to the movie. There was a stiff opposition from distributors, exhibitors and cable operators for this decision but the actor finally managed to go with his decision.

But strangely, when every thing seem to fall in place. Major DTH operators Tata Sky and Sun Direct opted to stay out of telecasting the movie. These two are the major players in Tamil Nadu and their decision will hamper his plans. The movie has been priced for Rs.1000 for one time watch on DTH and will be telecasted 8 hours before the theatrical release. The movie will be released in the Tamil Nadu by Raaj Kamal films and in North India it would be released by Ekta Kapoor. Both the versions will hit the theaters on January 11th but Telugu version will be released later due to big movies like ‘SVSC’ and ‘Nayak’ are getting released at that time.
