om-namo-venkateshaya-trailer-talk-more-shirdi-sai-less-sri-ramadasuLet us make it clear upfront that the trailer is far removed from being anything like Annamayya. At best it looks like it can be a Sri Ramadasu, and hence the comparison with the latter devotional film rather than the classic Annamayya.

The trailer is tackiness personified in the devotional genre. It is just a terrible assumption that a devotional movie has to be made in such low-grade way. It was fine when the technology wasn’t that advanced in the 90’s but two decades later still being struck with same technical values makes the 90’s movie look superior.

Om Namo Venkateshaya looks more in the Shirdi Sai zone rather than Sri Ramadasu is the feeling one gets after watching the trailer. Nagarjuna seems to be the only positive thing but even he sticks out due to the outdated technicalities surrounding him.

Check out the trailer below. ONV is directed by K Raghavendra Rao. The film is set to release worldwide on February 10.
