RRR - Lyca ProductionsSo, the buzz that has been doing the rounds for the past few days is now official. RRR’s theatrical right for Tamil Nadu are locked. Lyca Productions have bagged it at a fancy price.

Lyca Productions is known for big-budget productions on its own. They have made several high budget films, including the biggest of them all 2.0. Lyca grabbing RRR is a piece of good news if they keep up the promotional aspect.

The rights for RRR in Tamil Nadu include all versions. It is said to be around 42 – 45 Cr. It is massive for an other-language movie. It means RRR has to be in the zone of Baahubali movies theatrically to recover the price.

However, the biggest takeout of the deal is that the market has no reduced post the pandemic. The price offered is still the highest, and has not been renegotiated or brought down.

It also suggests that the market is coming back to normalcy all over. The next on the radar would be Kerala, in the South. The Kannada rights are already taken, but again needs an official confirmation, post-Corona.

RRR stars Jr NTR and Ram Charan in the lead. It will hit screens on October 13th grandly in multiple languages. SS Rajamouli directs the multi-starrer. It is his next release after the phenomenal Baahubali movies.
