It is official now. The blockbuster Tamil director Mohan Raja is on board as director for Lucifer remake in Telugu. Megastar Chiranjeevi heads the project. It will be his 153rd movie and commence shooting post-Sankranthi 2021.
Lucifer remake has been in the news in Telugu for quite some time. It is mainly due to the issue related to the director. The project was initially announced with Sujeeth taking over the directorial reigns. However, he was later dropped.
After Sujeeth, the sensational director VV Vinayak was reportedly roped in to direct the mega project. However, it too didn’t materialise in the end.
And now, after a gap, we have the blockbuster Tamil director Mohan Raja on board. He is the person behind the classic action thriller Thani Oruvan (remade as Dhruva in Telugu).
Not many might be aware now, but Mohan Raja has made his directorial debut in Telugu itself. He is the person behind the blockbuster movie Hanuman Junction featuring Jagapathi Babu and Arjun in the lead. Also, since then for a larger part of his career, Mohan Raja was known for remakes.
Lucifer is a Malayalam movie starring Mohan Lal in the lead. It is a mass action entertainer that had a larger than life appeal to it. The same film also had a dubbed theatrical release in Telugu, as well. We have to see how it is adapted in Telugu by Mohan Raja to make it look fresh, all over again.
