The first part of the biopic of the legend Nandamuri Taraka Ramarao, NTR – Kathanayakudu is all set to release tomorrow. The premiere will begin in a record number of screens in a few hours from now. Here is how the opening day is looking at worldwide.
Currently, the last film in the combination of Nandamuri Balakrishna and director Krish, Gautamiputra Satakarni (GPSK), holds the record for the biggest opener for the senior star. It collected nearly 13 Cr worldwide on its opening. NTR – Kathanayakudu is getting a bigger and wider release than GPSK and is likely to overtake it in both the Telugu states as well as overseas.
In the Telugu states, the bookings are a mixed bag with the multiplexes dominating the single screens. Also, not all areas are showing a similar response, and we have a few, which are yet to take off. Still, the vast number of shows and price is going to help it set a new record in Telugu states if the talk is as good as GPSK at the minimum.
In the US, Gautamaiputra Satakarni has collected $375K for the premieres which will be easily eclipsed by NTR – Kathanayakudu. The half a million mark also looks like a done deal. How much bigger it can go from there is what that needs to be seen.
