NTR Biopic Two Parts - Making Double Wrong Choices?Well, it is official now, and we have got a title too. It is not Prajanayakudu as speculated instead it is Mahanayakudu. The title is fine, but the basic idea and the release date are where the makers seem to have erred, is a general feeling.

First of all, a film entirely on the acting phase of NTR looks like a stretch. Still, fans could watch it for Balakrishna and nostalgia purposes, but then releasing the second part within two weeks on January 24 means even they would be having second thoughts. After all, it is the ‘political’ space that has got everyone excited in the first place.

Having a second part within two weeks will be potentially harmful (commercially) to the first one and then, bringing it on a working Thursday is like a suicide mission from the makers. A mid-week release for the second part, if the first one is not liked could dent its openings.

The best case scenario one can hope for here is Kathanayakudu taking the Sankranthi holidays advantage and sailing through and building hype for the mid-week Mahanayakudu. Still, even in this case, the business is going to split rather than add up. So, no matter how one slices and dices it, the rationale behind two-part biopic remains a mystery and self-harming in nature.
