For a really long time now, there have been multiple reports pertaining to the collaboration of Jr NTR and acclaimed Tamil filmmaker Vetrimaaran. Every now and again, we keep hearing that the duo is coming together in the near future.
This time, Vetri himself was posed the question by Telugu media as he came to Hyderabad to promote his new film, Vidudala.
When asked about the film with NTR, Vetri replied “to be honest, I don’t know what I’ll do tomorrow. I don’t even know what scene I’ll shoot the day after. So it’s not my cup of tea to speak about my future collaborations. But yeah, I have met NTR and pitched a script. We are bound to collaborate. But I can’t say when.”
Vetri added that doesn’t want to materialize the project just for the sake of star value or combination value. He said he’ll take the script to screen only if it demands a star like NTR.
This is a clever assessment from both Vetri and NTR. Vetri isn’t the kind of a mainstream commercial director. His films rely heavily on script and don’t focus on the commercial aspect. So, NTR and Vetri are better off collaborating for a script that truly has enough impetus rather than picking a script for the sake of it. They’re averting a huge mistake through the same.
Vetri added that Allu Arjun wanted to do a film with him and even came to Chennai. “I pitched a script to Allu Arjun and also offered a role in Vada Chennai. But it didn’t materialize. I even took a script to Mahesh Babu but that too didn’t happen.”
Coming back to NTR-Vetri film, it isn’t even on the immediate horizon. NTR has NTR30, War 2, and Prashanth Neel’s films. His schedule is jam packed. A collaboration with Vetri is very distinct if at all it happens.
