Bappi Lahiri nomoreBappi Lahiri hailed as the ‘Disco King’ has passed away at the age of 69. The popular musician and singer died on Tuesday night at Mumbai’s CritiCare Hospital. The reason for the death is said to be OSA (Obstructive Sleep Apnea).

Bappi Lahiri was said to be suffering from various health issues. The musician was undergoing treatment at the hospital for a month-long and was only discharged on Monday, February 14. However, his health deteriorated after going back home and the family members rushed him to the hospital where he breathed his last.

Bappi Lahiri is known for having huge gold chains around his neck. The late musician popularised pop music in Bollywood in the late 70s-80s. Not only in Hindi, but the musician has given several chartbusters in various languages too.

In Telugu too, he has composed several chartbuster songs like Akashamlo Okatara, Alare Alare, and Chiluka kshemama among others. Chiranjeevi’s iconic movie Gang Leader music was also composed by him. He last crooned for a Telugu song was Rum Pum Bum for Ravi Teja’s Disco Raja.
