Kaumudi Nemani, the anchor turned actress who was seen as Mahesh Babu’s sister in ‘Bharat Ane Nenu’ and a widow in the superstar’s ‘Sarileru Neekevvaru’, was under fire for sharing a group photo on a social medium platform.
It is a group photo with Ravi Teja, Satyam Rajesh etc. in attendance for a birthday celebration. You know, how people are on social media. There can be smoke without fire, even. People thought she was partying and questioned how they could gather when social distancing has become the norm of the day.
Kaumudi took to Twitter to clarify that it was a throwback picture of good old times. The actress asked how one can assume that she was irresponsible for a social gathering when people are facing a crisis and everyone needs to be responsible.
She seemed to be cross on a newspaper article that focused on her throwback picture without confirming with a valid source before speculating and publishing an article on her.
Here’s a clarification for the post on DC: The pictures were a throwback to the good times. When we are adhering to the rules of lockdown & requesting the public to maintain social distancing & asking them to stay safe during the lockdown. @DeccanChronicle

How can anyone assume that we are irresponsible enough to have a social gathering at this point in time. We cannot break the rules of lockdown &social distancing levied by the government during such critical times, for any occasion, excluding emergencies. @DeccanChronicle

Disregarding these rules would be an imprudent decision on our part. Wish you have confirmed with a valid source before speculating & publishing the article. @DeccanChronicle
