dasari narayana rao ticket price and benefit showsWhat is the reason behind the ongoing tussle between distributors and the film makers regarding facing heavy losses in most cases? Here the interviewer quotes the recent alleged attack on Puri Jaganadh by the distributors. Dasari Narayanarao points fingers at the hiked ticket prices in the name of benefit shows and premier shows?

Why are they going for benefit shows? “Whenever there is a film with combination of star hero and star director, the distributors who bids for the highest will get the rights on the film. If they go for regular shows with government fixed ticket prices, they can’t collect even 40% of what they have invested.” Hence they go for benefit shows explains Dasari.

‘Is this not fraud?’ questions the veteran director. Whenever a distributor losses are around 60%, they are coming to producer and director for compensations. Earlier, both parties used to come to the amicable understanding and decide to work for next film to compensate the losses.
