Non-Rajinikanth US Record - What's ThisAjith’s ‘Vivegam‘ collected $208K on an opening day in the United States. This number seems to be very small when compared to the numbers we have been hearing for Tollywood movies. But then, this is still a good number for Tamil movies.

Even big Tamil movies featuring big stars are failing to pull crowds to theatres in the United States though they are turning blockbusters in the domestic markets. Unlike Telugu films where even small films with good content are pulling huge crowds and recording huge numbers.

Tamil films aren’t able to command huge numbers at the US box-office. Can you imagine, Rajini still holds the record for his film ‘Kabali’ with $1.92 Million? The previous record also was for a Rajini’s film. Like we have non-Baahubali record, that’s why they say non-Rajini record.

Currently, in 2017, Tollywood has five films which crossed million dollars and two films that reached two million dollars while Kollywood doesn’t have even one film that came anywhere near one million dollars in the US market. So, it’s time for another Rajini’s movie to open the million dollar club, even this year.
