No More Password Sharing For Netflix AccountsNetflix is one of the leading giants in OTT platforms. A few days back, news came out that Netflix is going to fix the issue of account password sharing across the globe to increase its revenue.

In one of their statements, Netflix revealed that more than 100 million households are using shared passwords. So, in the days to come, Netflix is not going to restrict this but make rules in such a way that it charges the owners of the primary account an “extra fee for every sub-account or password sharer.

This feature has already been tested in regions like Costa Rica and Chile. As per the news, Netflix is charging an additional fee to add “sub accounts” for up to two people outside the home.

This is an interesting plan from Netflix but has been welcomed with mixed reactions worldwide. In India, only an elite circle and mostly the upper middle class subscribes to Netflix and even they feel that with such new rules, the OTT giant will lose even the existing customers in the days to come.

Looks like it is a bold move from Netflix to increase its revenue but how far will it be successful needs to be seen.
