One by one, severe movies are making their way to OTT platforms opting direct digital release beaus of the financial burdens they had to face due to closed theatres. Despite huge pressure and lucrative offers by the streaming giants, there are a few big movies that aren’t going to take the bait.
Prabhas’ ‘Radhe Shyam, Yash’s ‘KGF Chapter 2’ and the biggest of all the pan-Indian movies; Rajamouli’s RRR with NTR and Ram Charan are the three movies that had to clarify that they aren’t going to succumb no matter what and unofficially, it’s known that they aren’t going to get lured by offers from OTT.
It’s really astounding to know that OTT platforms are so hellbent on bringing the above magnum opuses to home theatres that they are ready to offer a staggering figure and i.e., nearly Rs 200 crores. Still, the digital platforms can’t weave that magic needed for the larger than life experience.
As Yash rightly observed that some films are made only for larger than life experience and only theatrical release would do justice. That means, ‘KGF Chapter 2’ isn’t going to be on OTT directly and likewise, even RRR and ‘Radhe Shyam’.
