There have been reports that Kamal Haasan will also be acting the Telugu version of ‘Drishyam’, besides the Tamil version. But the producers of the film have confirmed that Kamal will only be acting in the Tamil version, while Venkatesh will act in the Telugu remake. Apparently, the Telugu version has been locked with Venkatesh and will be directed by Sripriya.
Drishyam, which is the first Malayalam film to collect over INR 50 crore, is being remade in all southern languages. This is probably the first film to be remade in all southern languages. The Kannada version will be directed by P. Vasu and it will feature veteran actor Ravichandran in the lead.
The remakes are expected to go on floors in the second half of this year. Venkatesh will first work on ‘Drishyam’ remake and then go on to act in the remake of ‘Oh My God’.
