For the second consecutive week, it was the turn of Tamil dubbed flicks to dominate the box office at the Telugu states. Khaidi and Whistle emerge as the first choices over Telugu movies Meeku Mathrame Cheptha and Aaviri.
The Karthi starrer was the pick of the lot. It has maintained a steady run across all the territories in the Telugu states. The movie is now entering into a profit zone for all the parties involved. Whistle starring Vijay was the second choice, and it too put up a decent total. Whistle is also a breakeven proposition for almost all the concerned people.
Among the Telugu films, Meeku Mathrame Cheptha was better of the lot. It had a poor opening, and that was its best performance. One can understand how the situation would have been over the weekend. Aaviri like its title evaporated from the minds of the audience.
The performance of Telugu films wasn’t shocking, but something better was expected from Meeku Mathrame Cheptha. Vijay Deverakonda and team had aggressively promoted it, and yet the result wasn’t there. The dull season only added to the weak product and poor talk.
