Chiranjeevi -Balakrishna - Nagarjuna Akkineni -VenkateshThe Telugu Film Industry has four senior heroes Chiranjeevi, Balakrishna, Nagarjuna and Venkatesh as four pillars of the industry. All the senior stars had at least one release in 2019. Balayya had three releases.

Talking about Balayya first with maximum releases among the senior stars this year, he had the worst year career-wise in 2019. The two films aka NTR biopics at the beginning of the year and the recent release ‘Ruler’ were flops.

Coming to Chiru, his dream project ‘Sye Raa’ failed to create the expected records or any memories at the box-office as it fared average in the Telugu States but failed in the overseas market. ‘Sye Raa‘ was expected to be a memorable movie for Bollywood audiences like ‘Baahubali’.

Nagarjuna too had a disappointing film. His ‘Manmadhudu 2’ was a disaster and made us wonder why he chose a story like this, that actually was nowhere near to the successful prequel with a similar title. The fourth one among the seniors is Victory Venkatesh.

He had two releases this year. ‘F2: Fun & Frustration’ came for Sankranthi in January and ‘Venky Mama’ came in December on his birthday. The first one was a blockbuster both in the Telugu States and overseas. The latest release was a super hit in the Telugu States.

Clearly, Victory Venkatesh is the number one hero of Tollywood this year among the seniors. By the way, before this year successful films, Venky’s previous film ‘Guru’ was also a hit film in Venky’s career. Three in a row, hattrick for Venky!
