In a staggering development, Karthikeya 2 has outperformed Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha and Akshay Kumar’s Rakshabandhan in their own home turf – the Hindi belt.
On Thursday, Karthikeya 2 made Rs 1.64 crores nett in the Hindi theatrical belt which is considerably higher than what Laal Singh Chaddha (Rs 1.3 Cr) and Rakshabandhan (Rs 1 Cr) did.
The fact that a Telugu film fared better than two mainstream Hindi biggies featuring two top Bollywood superstars is as astonishing as it can get.
That’s not all of it. Karthikeya 2 is now the front runner to leave Laal Singh Chaddha and Rakshabandhan in the dust this weekend as it has emerged as the primary choice for the Hindi audience. The box office trends on Thursday is an indication of what’s to follow this weekend.
The Lord Krishna touch in Karthikeya 2 is evidently playing the decisive role in the North belt where mythological and patriotism angles are ruling the roost.
