Anirudh-Ravichander-BGM

There is this latest trend in South cinema these days. Even films with average content are elevated to great heights because of the rousing background score.

Even though many of the films are weak in the emotional connect, they are receiving the benefit of a pulsing BGM which covers up for the lack of powerful writing. The mental mass BGMs are making the youth fall in love with the films irrespective of the content.

Some recent movies like Vikram and KGF 2 were elevated to extraordinary heights because of their exceptional background score. Unfortunately, our Telugu films are lacking in this aspect. Films like Pushpa and Sarkaru Vari Paata could have made a better impact if the BGM was better than what was served. Even in Acharya, the BGM was pathetic.

Many on social media are saying that Tamil music directors are turning ordinary films into extraordinary ones with the help of excellent BGM, whereas even good Telugu movies are getting bogged down by subpar BGM.

Many netizens consider Anirudh as the best music director to give pulsating BGM these days. Thaman did give a phenomenal background score for Akhanda, which was its lifeline, but he has not been able to repeat the magic consistently. They are saying that DSP is struggling hard to find the right tempo and beats.
