All the while, Amazon Prime Video was the frontline contender for almost every Telugu big-ticket film. But that isn’t the case anymore as Netflix appears to be taking over Amazon’s Telugu market.
Of late, Netflix has been acquiring the likes of Shyam Singha Roy, RRR(Hindi), Radhe Shyam (Hindi), and others.
Well, Netflix might have just bagged the Hindi rights of RRR but the film got worldwide reach and it helped Netflix big time. Amazon, which had the habit of bagging almost every Telugu biggie should be regretting letting go off RRR.
Netflix has also bagged forthcoming release, Pakka Commercial. Also, they have other titles like Virata Parvam, Major, and Ante Sundaraniki.
Apart from that, Netflix has also bagged other Indian hits like Jana Gana Mana, Don, Gangubai Kathiawadi, and others.
With all the reach RRR fetched them, Netflix might be going after more Telugu films in the days to come, which could further eat into Amazon’s footprint in the Telugu OTT space.
