Everything has been set today by the fans of Nandamuri Balakrishna to break the long staying legendary record of running in Telugu cinema with the star’s summer release Legend.
So far in Telugu cinema, yesteryear’s film Premabhishekam starring Akkineni Nageshwara Rao has the record of the longest direct single theatre run ever of 380 days. This feat was achieved by the film in a theatre in Guntur. Now Balakrishna’s Legend is going to break this record by running for around 400 days in Yemmiganur. It is being said that agreements to that effect have been made today by the fans with theatre management.
Premabhisekham was released in 1981 and it was among the last major sensations created as a solo star by Akkineni Nageshwara Rao. It has been reported that in all the years that have passed since the record was established very few films came close to it. Among those few, out of respect for the veteran legend, the films were terminated duly which came close to truly breaking the record.
