Nayanthara-Has-No-Such-PlansThese days every small to medium budget flicks are getting ready to have a digital release. In Tamil film industry, the buzz has seen a gain in momentum post the successful landing of Jyothika’s Ponmagal Vandhal. The next one in the queue is Keerthy Suresh’s Penguin.

Amidst the current scenario, a female-oriented film seems to be a natural choice for digital takeover. However, when the same was brought to the focus of Nayanthara starrer Mookuthi Amman, the makers of the film, made it clear that they had no such plans.

RJ, and character artist cum comedian RJ Balaji and NJ Srinivasan jointly directs Mookuthi Amman. Nayanthara will be seen in the title role in this devotional film.

The buzz on the movie is quite good, and it is yet to finish its shooting entirely. The post-production works, though, are expected to take place. With the government thinking of lifting the theatre ban soon, it makes sense for the makers of Mookuthi Amman to wait out the lockdown period.

Nayanthara is a force at the box office in Tamil Nadu. She has seen a few solo successes in Tamil. If there is a market and the project seems workable theatrically, there should be no concern, rightfully, about the digital release. Let’s see if the makers stick to it in the coming weeks or have a change of mind.
