While things have returned to normalcy with theaters functioning and shoots getting resumed, but the dilemma on filmmakers about their film releases hasn’t come down. Although theaters have opened and medium-budget films like SR Kalyanamandapam scored a decent success, some are still in a confused state.
Currently, strong buzz has it that Keerthy Suresh’s Kollywood film Saani Kaayidham, a crime drama, is set for OTT release. The makers are yet to take a call on it and if this happens then it would be her third film to go for direct-to-OTT way.
Keerthy Suresh previous films that skipped theatrical release and went for OTT way are – Penguin and Miss India. It was also rumoured that Good Luck Sakhi by Nagesh Kukunoor will also have an OTT release but makers haven’t announced anything yet.
On the other side, back home Nani’s film V got released on OTT. Now, Tuck Jagadish is also vouching for digital streaming release. In fact, Nani expressed his pain via an open letter on social media. And with this, Nani will be the highest in heroes to have a direct-to-OTT release with two films, while if it happens for Keerthy Suresh, she will be the highest in heroines with three OTT releases.
