Nani Backs Out Not Due To Covid, But Govt. GOEver since the Andhra Pradesh state government passed GO regarding the slashing of prices (to more than a decade ago rates), there has been widespread unhappy murmurs in the industry. It has been termed draconian and potentially killer blow to a flourishing industry. Well, its impact is visible now, and none other than Nani is feeling the heat.

Earlier in the day, the new law with slashed ticket prices came into effect. It meant ticket rates in C centres coming as low as rupees 5, and the highest being 20. As the theatres couldn’t operate at those rates, they have shut down the properties.

The exhibitors have painstakingly upgraded their theatres (in smaller centres) over the years to the changing time and audience tastes. It went in hand with the increasing prices. Only then they can withstand the daily maintenance and provides salaries. Suddenly reducing the prices to pre-upgraded days means they can’t operate the screening anymore.

It is not just Vakeel Saab, which has no choice now, but all the upcoming films which will get impacted here. Many big-budget films have reportedly decided to hold their releases until the prices are back to normal.

Nani’s Tuck Jagadish team, which has been in two minds over the postponement decision, has finally decided to stop their release. They won’t arrive on April 23rd, as announced. The new release date will be notified when the ‘prices’ are back to normal and the ‘cases’ reduce.
