August always proves to be a promising month for Tollywood with films like Bimbisara, Sita Ramam, Macherla Niyojakavargam, Karthikeya 2, and Liger lined up for release.
The trade was of the opinion that Liger would be the film that would open the market by going big at the box office. But in a sweet turn of events, Nandamuri Kalyan Ram’s Bimbisara has walked away with this credit now.
Bimbisara is posting very good numbers at the box office and it even breached the breakeven mark in the opening weekend. This Kalyan Ram starrer will stand as the film that gave Tollywood the much needed impetus by emerging as a commercial super hit.
All the while, Vijay Deverakonda was believed to be the hero who would bring the audience back to theaters in big numbers with Liger. But Kalyan Ram walked away with this credit.
The onus is now on Vijay to up the ante further and make more noise with Liger. He will have to pull the larger section of the audience to the theaters. His super aggressive promotions for Liger will help the cause. Liger is releasing on 25 August.
