Nandamuri Balakrishna famous for his knowledge of Indian epics Ramayana and Mahabharata, recently committed a mistake while promoting his latest film Veera Simha Reddy.
While promoting the film Balakrishna made a statement that Devala Maharshi is the guru of Deva Brahmins and that Ravana is considered to be a leader by them.
The members of the Deva Brahmin community took offense and expressed their anguish. They demanded that Balakrishna must apologize for spreading misinformation about their community without knowing the history.
As soon as this issue came to his notice, Balakrishna issued an apology and explanation in a press release, acknowledging his mistake and expressing extreme regret for any offense caused.
He stated, “I would like to thank all the Deva Brahmin elders who informed me that the leader of the Deva Brahmins is not Ravana Brahma. Thank you for letting me know that whatever information I had about it was wrong.”
He also added, “I would never hurt the sentiments of any of my brothers and sisters. Unknowingly, I committed a mistake, and I am sorry for that. Our Telugu people know that I never intend to hurt their feelings.”
