TDP Supremo and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu seem to be grooming his scion to give the party reins few years later. Accordingly, Naidu may be leaving a decision of the highest level to someone other than himself by giving Lokesh the chance to select the candidates for upcoming elections.

The notification for four MLC seatsin MLAs quota is already done and the election will take place on June 1st. Going by the numbers, the TDP can win three seats and the YSR Congress one. Sources close to Lokesh tells us that he will be giving chances leaders from the backward classes and those who could not get ticket in the 2014 elections due to various reasons in this election.

In this category, Somisetty Venkateswarlu from Kurnool, Dwarapureddy Jagadish from Vizianagaram and Beeda Ravichandra Yadav from Nellore have been identified as probable candidates. However on the other side, Seniors who can take on the YSRCP effectively, like Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy from Nellore and Linga Reddy from Kadapa are trying their level best to get a chance. Lokesh give the final list to his father in the next four days. Most likely, the candidates will be announced on May 20, a day before nominations close.
