Our readers are aware that Akkineni Nagarjuna is acting as Sai Baba in a devotional movie titled ‘Shirdi Sai’. The first press meet of the movie was conducted yesterday in Hyderabad on the occasion of Guru Pournima. Speaking at the event, Nagarjuna who was otherwise a jovial man became slightly emotional during the speech. He spoke as if he is a highly spiritual person.
He said, “I know very less of Sai Baba until then. One day, I suddenly got the urge of going to Shirdi and went there. And immediately after coming from there, Raghavender Rao garu narrated the script to me. And from then interesting events began to take place in my house. Photos and idols of Sai Baba would appear in my house out of no where. I never felt any uncomfortable in getting in to the skin of the character. I have done over 90 films and I have experienced at-least one disturbing experience in each of those films. Shirdi Sai is the only film that went very smoothly during the shoot.
There were few senior correspondents among the media persons present there. Some of them were reportedly following Nagarjuna through out his career and they say they have never seen Nagarjuna speaking so pious and emotional.
