His mother couldn’t address him Jagapathi because it happens to be his grandfather’s name, even. So, she couldn’t address her son with her father-in-law’s name and hence, started calling him ‘Chowdary’ and the nickname finally came to calling ‘Chow-Chow’. Thus Jagapathi narrated the story of his nickname.
