Nagarjuna and Jagapathi Babu are contemporaries and the age gap between them is very less, maybe, 2 or 3 years. While Nag has always been consistently living his life on his own terms, Jagapathi Babu has seen many ups and downs. In fact, he went through the worst phase in his life and now, he is slowly settling back to normal life.
Nagarjuna’s father legendary ANR and Jagapathi Babu’s father legendary producer Rajendra Prasad shared a great bond as Jagapathi banner was like ANR’s banner that gave him many super hit films. So, Nag and Jagapathi have an illustrious filmy background and they have been friends since their childhood because of their respective fathers’ relationship with each other.
Nag and Jagapathi call each other ‘Chow-Chow’. It’s not because of the caste clarifies Jagapathi Babu in an interview saying that ‘Chowdary’ was his nickname at home. His mother couldn’t address him Jagapathi because it happens to be his grandfather’s name, even. So, she couldn’t address her son with her father-in-law’s name and hence, started calling him ‘Chowdary’ and the nickname finally came to calling ‘Chow-Chow’. Thus Jagapathi narrated the story of his nickname.
