Directed by Anees Bazmee, Welcome was a very successful humorous romantic film in 2007 with Akshay Kumar as the lead and after buying the rights for the movie, producer Vishnu Babu will be remaking it in Telugu.
The movie is about a guy named Rajiv who falls in love with a girl named Sanjana, who turns out to be the sister of a criminal don Uday Shetty. What he does not know is that the same criminal is forcing his uncle, Dr. Ghungroo to make him marry Sanjana which leads to many hilarious events.
It is reported that in the Telugu remake, Naga Chaitanya will be male lead, Mohan Babu is said to play Nana Patekar’s role, while Srihari essays Anil Kapoor’s role from the original. The producers of this movie are still in search of a leading actress to reprise Katrina Kaif’s role. It is also rumored that the characters will be modified to go well with the taste of Telugu audience, which is why a well-known writer is working on the script of the Telugu version. The shooting will begin from the next month as reported.
